“As an atheist, I truly believe Africa needs God” – Matthew Parris, Times

africa-satellite-small1This article is a fantastic read… It really gets at the heart of things happening in Africa and what it will really take to change the continent… Gospel Changed Hearts…Very thankful to Bryan Lilly for this find.

EXCERPT (See Full Post Here)

Now a confirmed atheist, I’ve become convinced of the enormous contribution that Christian evangelism makes in Africa: sharply distinct from the work of secular NGOs, government projects and international aid efforts. These alone will not do. Education and training alone will not do. In Africa Christianity changes people’s hearts. It brings a spiritual transformation. The rebirth is real. The change is good.“

Deeply impressed by his candor and honest observation, his atheism is some of the best theism I have seen in awhile. I read a similar post by Floyd McClung a ways back that really enhanced my thinking in this area.

A truly great article – I feel as a Christian ,that this article is for all of us, not just the people of Africa. We have for too long ,put our faith in man and sadly today we see the results of this. Perhaps Matthew Parris would like to find out more about being a Christian (that definitely does not involve ‘being religous’ ) but loving and caring for our fellow man as Jesus did? I think he’s halfway there!
